Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Michael Collins (ranked 20160 p4p, 1517 weight class) and James Hackett (ranked 414 p4p, 153 weight class). Hackett has chosen Foe Tha Love of Money as his entrance music. Michael Collins is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 34 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Collins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, James Hackett!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A leg kick checked by Hackett.
Hackett slips a jab and a cross from Collins.
Collins throws a hook but Hackett blocks it.
Collins pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hackett takes one to the chin there.
Collins scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Collins misses with a two punch combination.
Hackett throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Collins is looking for a counter combo.
Hackett throws a nice inside leg kick.
Collins has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Collins throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Collins misses with a few strikes there.

Collins gets tackled into the ropes by Hackett. Hackett maintains the clinch.
Hackett makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Hackett lands a good knee to the midsection. Collins won't want to take too many of those.
Collins is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Collins tries to circle away but Hackett has him pinned against the ropes.

Hackett with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hackett lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Collins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hackett connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Collins takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Collins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Collins is trying to push Hackett away but Hackett has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Hackett pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hackett lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hackett fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Collins looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Collins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Michael Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

James Hackett dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Hackett creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Collins is looking to break free of the clinch but Hackett has double underhooks.
Hackett tries to land a knee to the head but Collins blocks with his arms.

Hackett pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

James Hackett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hackett stalks Collins and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Collins's face. Collins staggers backwards, shaken.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hackett lands a nice leg kick that just misses Collins's sensitive parts.

Collins takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Oh Collins is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hackett clinches up with Collins and pushes him back against the ropes.
Hackett has a couple of punches blocked by Collins.
Collins looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Still in the clinch, Hackett scores with a nice short uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hackett lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

James Hackett seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Collins is trying to break the clinch but Hackett is controlling him.
Hackett lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Collins backwards.
Hackett cracks Collins with a big uppercut, right up the middle and Collins goes down! Oh, he's hurt! He's bigtime hurt! The referee is giving him a chance to get back to his feet - 4,5,6,7, no, he's called it off! Collins wasn't going to make it and the fight is over!
