PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Man Azroi (ranked 5913 p4p, 4254 weight class) and Ioelu Vavau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Azroi has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azroi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Azroi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Vavau lunges at Azroi with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Azroi's hand.
Azroi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vavau as he jumps to the side.
Vavau dips to his left and cracks Azroi with an uppercut!
Vavau scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Vavau bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Azroi's head.
Azroi avoids the body shot from Vavau.
Vavau moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Azroi could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ioelu Vavau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Azroi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Azroi is breathing heavily.
Vavau jabs Azroi to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Azroi seems to have got his legs back now.
Vavau is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Vavau cracks Azroi with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Vavau wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Vavau wants to clinch up but Azroi keeps it at a distance.
Vavau buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Vavau has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
