This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 0 losses; Albert Blaird! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Grigoryan clinches up with Blaird and pushes him back against the cage. Grigoryan is breathing heavily. Blaird manages to pull guard.
Grigoryan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Blaird looking for a guillotine here but Grigoryan defends easily.
Grigoryan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blaird working for a triangle but Grigoryan defends it easily.
Grigoryan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blaird swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blaird is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Blaird escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Grigoryan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Grigoryan's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Grigoryan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Grigoryan preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Blaird tries to hold on but Grigoryan pushes him away.

Grigoryan really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Blaird. Grigoryan is not going to allow Blaird to sit and survive in this position.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Grigoryan is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Grigoryan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
