Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Niko Silva (ranked 4958 p4p, 5149 weight class) and Owain Parsons (ranked 451 p4p, 462 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Niko Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Owain Parsons! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parsons with a body punch. A glancing blow. Parsons scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Owain Parsons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva fails with the takedown and Parsons counters with a left to the body. Parsons lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Parsons scores with a jab to the head.
A jab from Parsons does it's job there. Silva takes a body punch but keeps moving. Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Parsons counters with a series of strikes. Silva will be more careful next time no doubt. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A nice combination there by Parsons.
Parsons fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Silva looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Silva has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Parsons cracks Silva with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Silva shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Parsons is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Silva dives into side control.
Parsons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Silva stands up. Parsons digs a good hook to Silva's body.
Silva misses with a takedown and Parsons counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Niko Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parsons connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Parsons lands a nice shot that snaps Silva's head back.
Parsons looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well. Parsons jabs at Silva's body. Parsons connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Silva's hands. Owain Parsons is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Parsons tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away. Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Parsons changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Parsons lands a jab to Silva's midsection. Parsons is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Silva had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Parsons scores with a sloppy right hand. Silva should have avoided that one. Silva moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Owain Parsons dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Silva drives through and clinches with Parsons against the cage.
Parsons has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Our sources have told us that Silva has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Silva is looking to take this one to the mat. Parsons's coach down at Canucks Combat Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Parsons's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. A head punch blocked on the inside by Silva. Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silva takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Parsons tries to clinch up. Parsons lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Silva at a distance.
Silva takes a body punch but keeps moving. Silva gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parsons connects with the punch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Parsons tests Silva's chin there with a solid looking shot. Parsons is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva has his takedown stuffed and Parsons counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Niko Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Parsons connects with the punch. Silva walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Parsons scores with a hook to the body. Silva takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Parsons lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Parsons throws a one two combo.
Silva is rocked! Parsons wants to clinch. Parsons keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Silva needs to keep his hands up - Parsons had a free shot at his head there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Donk. Parsons catches Silva right on the button with a cross. Parsons lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Silva at a distance.
Parsons jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Parsons closes the distance and clinches. Silva missing with knees to the body.
Parsons throws a punch but it's blocked by Silva. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Parsons. Parsons lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Silva backwards. Parsons misses with a hook from the clinch. Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A jab from Parsons does it's job there. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Parsons wants to clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Owain Parsons showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Parsons stuffs the takedown. Owain Parsons seems to be getting the better of the standup. Parsons fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage. Silva gets control of Parsons's arms and successfully pulls guard. Silva will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silva is on top in guard.
Silva slips nicely into half guard. Silva controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva stops Parsons from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Silva stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Parsons to get to his feet. Silva misses with a head kick.
Silva darts in and clinches Parsons up against the cage. Parsons wants to break free but Silva has control.
Parsons tries to stall but Silva uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Parsons has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Silva tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Silva decides to pull guard. Silva has his hands on Parsons's head, controlling the position. Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva working for a triangle but Parsons defends it easily.
Silva wriggles free and stands up. Owain Parsons is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Parsons connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Niko Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Parsons gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Silva to score an easy takedown into full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Silva is working Parsons over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Niko Silva showed his dominance in that final round. I think Parsons has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Owain Parsons! In his post fight interview, Owain Parsons started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
