This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 2 losses; Henry Waterman! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 1 losses; Albert Blaird! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Blaird looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Waterman is fending him off so far but Blaird persists. Nope, Waterman circles away and we're back to standing. Waterman half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Blaird takes the fight into the clinch. Blaird fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Blaird pulls guard effortlessly. Waterman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Blaird's guard. Blaird trying to hold on to Waterman's head to control him but Waterman postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blaird wants to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Waterman is keen to just control but Blaird is a slippery customer. Waterman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Blaird is just riding it out for now. Waterman eventually gives up the hold.

He has the arm isolated but Blaird is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
