Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 43 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ciro Terranova!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 31 - 5, fighting out of Tokyo, Bill Newton!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terranova connects with a solid leg kick.
Terranova drops his hands momentarily and Newton takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Newton loads up on a big right hand but Terranova slips the punch.
Newton doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Terranova makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Newton dives in and grabs Terranova's left leg, looking for a takedown. Terranova pushes down on Newton's head and hops out.
Newton shoots in looking for a takedown but Terranova manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Newton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ciro Terranova has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill Newton.

Terranova buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Newton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Terranova is fending him off so far but Newton persists. Nope, Terranova circles away and we're back to standing.

My spies in Gold Samurai's Gym inform me that Newton has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Newton stops Terranova from getting back to his feet.
Terranova won't allow Newton to pass to mount.
Newton uses his free foot to push down on Terranova's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Terranova.

Terranova has left one of his arms exposed and Newton doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Terranova screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
