Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aldemir Santos! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Santos counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Santos frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Santos pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Santos with shots to the head and body - Scott looks very uncomfortable down there. Scott knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santos on the ground. Santos prevents Scott from getting the reversal. Scott is working hard here to advance position. Santos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Scott is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santos looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Scott is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos fails to take his opponent's back. Santos looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Scott is looking to improve his position but Santos isn't that keen on the idea. Scott on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Scott tries to get out of the position. Scott bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Scott scoring with some ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Scott's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Santos working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Scott. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scott is posturing up here but Santos has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Scott tries to roll out but it's too tight and Scott has to tap! Slick submission there by Santos!
