Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nils Norling (ranked 1497 p4p, 1719 weight class) and Hong Kong (ranked 209 p4p, 236 weight class). Norling comes to the cage accompanied by Scarlet - Age of seduction. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kong's choice of entrance music: Tom Cochrane - Life Is A Highway. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nils Norling! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hong Kong! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Norling connects with a right hand. Kong shakes it off. Kong cracks Norling with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Norling throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kong on the side of the head. Kong misses with a looping left. An attempted straight right counter from Norling misses the target. Norling just misses with a punch to the body.
Kong tries to clinch up but Norling circles away and keeps his distance. A slow jab from Norling misses its intended target. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kong. A little feinted left hand from Norling on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Norling takes a swing at Kong's ribcage but misses. Kong shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Norling sprawls well. Norling wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kong gets slowly back to his feet. Nils Norling is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kong on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kong circles away from the clinch attempt.
It seemed like Kong was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Norling tries to clinch there but Kong circles away.
Norling is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kong. Norling tries to close the distance and clinch but Kong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kong bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kong looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kong uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Norling. Norling has Kong up against the cage in a clinch.
Kong tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Nils Norling has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hong Kong. Kong lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Kong is trying to force a seperation but Norling has the dominant position. Kong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Norling moves into the clinch successfully.
Kong has a couple of punches blocked by Norling.
Kong drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Norling gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Norling lands with a short head shot on the inside. Norling misses with a short punch on the inside. Kong misses with a hook from the clinch. Norling is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kong is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Norling to the mat. Norling regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kong prevents Norling from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norling trying to control the position here. Kong looking to pass the guard. Norling wants to sweep here but Kong controlling him for the moment. Kong wants to control from the top but Norling keeps moving. Kong throwing strikes but missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kong is stalling in the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kong lands a nice shot that snaps Norling's head back.
A jab from Kong misses. Norling connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Norling is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kong. Kong ducks under a wild hook from Norling. Kong defending well as Norling loads up on a big left hand. Kong tries to counter by closing the distance. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Nils Norling dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Kong shoots in for a takedown and gets it. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kong working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Kong is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Norling sees it coming and defends easily. Kong trying to control the action but Norling is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Norling blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kong. Norling is refusing to be controlled, as Kong sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kong is working for a kimura but Norling is defending it quite comfortably.
Norling is trying to stand back up but Kong is controlling him
Kong missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kong prevents Norling from improving his position. Kong wants to pass the guard but Norling is defending well. Kong is looking for a kimura but Norling is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kong to get the leverage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Norling keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kong keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kong uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Norling. Kong swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Norling throws the left hand but Kong avoids the punch easily. Kong moves out of range of the strikes. Norling lands a slapping body shot.
Norling throws out a loose jab but Kong uses good head movement to avoid it. Kong lands with a hook. Norling tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Norling rushes Kong and presses him up against the cage. Norling fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norling lands with a right to the head. Kong has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Norling is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Kong blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kong is trying to push Norling away but Norling has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Kong has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A nice right hand lands inside from Norling. Kong jumps guard but Norling stands there with Kong around his waist. Kong gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Norling goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kong thows a left - swing and a miss! Norling slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Kong misses with an uppercut
and Norling scores with a counter punch that sends Kong to the canvas! Norling smells blood - he's punishing Kong with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Kong has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nils Norling! An out of breath Nils Norling thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
