It looked like Chaney wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Chaney looks for a takedown but Abakumov sprawls well.
Abakumov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Chaney uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Abakumov.
As Abakumov tries to get set, Chaney tries to push him back and clinch up but Abakumov manages to avoid the attempt.

Abakumov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chaney is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Chaney avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Abakumov.

Abakumov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chaney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Abakumov scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Abakumov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Chaney with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Let's hope that Abakumov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Abakumov stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Chaney has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Abakumov manages to get his head free but now Chaney has transitioned to an armbar! Abakumov grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Chaney! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
