The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menchov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fred paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Menchov looks to land a combination but Fred avoids it well.
Fred fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Menchov manages to avoid it.
A combination from Fred does no damage.
Menchov throws a combination that misses
and Fred counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Viktor Menchov has been cut.

Menchov clinches with his opponent.
Menchov wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fred has him pressed against the cage.

Fred breaks the clinch.
Fred scores with a jab. Menchov acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Menchov lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Jab, jab by Fred - just one landing.
The fighters circling - Menchov throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Menchov has closed the distance and engaged Fred in a clinch.
Menchov is trying to break the clinch but Fred has him pressed against the cage.

Fred's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Menchov has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fred avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Fred breaks the clinch.
Fred throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Menchov throws a jab but it's blocked by Fred.
Fred misses with a body kick.
Fred throws a left and a right that both miss
and Menchov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Menchov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Menchov tries to clinch but Fred moves away
and Fred counters with a nice low kick that buckles Menchov's knee momentarily.
Fred pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fred motions for Menchov to come forward. Fred throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A combination from Fred does no damage.
Fred dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Menchov. That did some damage!

Menchov closes the distance looking to clinch
and Fred counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Menchov thinking.

Fred slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Menchov tries to clinch up but Fred circles away and keeps his distance.
Menchov avoids the head kick by Fred.
Viktor Menchov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Menchov avoids a kick to the body.
Fred cracks Menchov with a good jab.
Menchov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Menchov on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fred throws a right hand that Menchov ducks under and follows up with a left that Menchov also avoids with ease.
Fred buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Fred, right into the meat.
Fred feints and then cracks Menchov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Menchov down.
Fred lands a hook that stumbles Menchov back into the cage. Fred follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Menchov to the canvas! Fred pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Menchov has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
