And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 23 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Salter!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salter on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Smith throws out a powerful jab.
Smith keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Smith seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Salter fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but Salter persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Smith wants to improve his position but Salter is controlling well.
Salter is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Salter to get the leverage.
Smith makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Smith.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.
Salter pushes a forearm under Smith's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Smith is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

After winning the bout, Sam Salter thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
