Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Percival Sherington (ranked 5391 p4p, 3635 weight class) and Samuel Cooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooke has chosen Harm's Way - Warriors Will Reign as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Samuel Cooke enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Percival Sherington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 26 - 29 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Cooke! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooke keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sherington throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Sherington lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Sherington scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Sherington misses with a wild body shot. Sherington swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cooke is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sherington just misses with a punch to the body.
Sherington misses with a looping left. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sherington throws a body punch but Cooke moves out of range. Cooke changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Sherington takes a swing at Cooke's ribcage but misses. Sherington has Cooke up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooke has hold of one of Sherington's legs. Sherington is fighting the takedown attempt but Cooke gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Cooke drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cooke jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cooke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Cooke drops back for a leg! Cooke seems to be working for a kimura but Sherington defends the submission attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sherington has his hands clasped together around Cooke's back. He's all about the action. Cooke looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sherington is defending against the submission attempts here by Cooke.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sherington tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Cooke has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Cooke is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sherington has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sherington! Cooke throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cooke lands a decent punch to the body there. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Percival Sherington will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
