Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marian Herzog (ranked 3582 p4p, 5225 weight class) and Jari Sillanpaa (ranked 188 p4p, 232 weight class). Sillanpaa is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Jari Sillanpää-Satulinna. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marian Herzog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jari Sillanpaa!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herzog misses with a takedown attempt - Sillanpaa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sillanpaa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Herzog fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sillanpaa, pushing him back against the cage.
Herzog decides to pull guard.
Herzog is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Herzog on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Herzog tries to get out of the position.

Herzog pulls Sillanpaa in close to his closed guard and prevents Sillanpaa from doing any damage or advancing position.

We've been informed that Sillanpaa has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Sillanpaa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Herzog manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Herzog lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sillanpaa circles away quickly and effectively.
Herzog shoots in but no luck this time.

Herzog is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Herzog gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Herzog gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Herzog apologises and we restart here on the feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marian Herzog will probably get the nod.
