Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Kowalski (ranked 615 p4p, 1065 weight class) and Haw Thorn (ranked 84 p4p, 139 weight class). Thorn has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Peter Kowalski had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Kowalski! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Haw Thorn! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thorn lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Kowalski ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Kowalski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thorn avoids it really well and circles away. Thorn was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Kowalski gets the takedown into side control. Thorn throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kowalski shoots for a takedown but Thorn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kowalski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thorn as he avoids it easily. Thorn swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Kowalski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thorn misses with a hook
so Kowalski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kowalski is standing up over Thorn. Thorn looks to escape but Kowalski dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kowalski in side control, throwing shots but Thorn defends. Thorn is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kowalski is controlling him well. Kowalski working the ground and pound. Kowalski connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Thorn some visible discomfort.

Thorn is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kowalski is controlling him well. Thorn managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Kowalski.
Thorn is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kowalski asserts his dominance and retains side control. Kowalski working the head with strikes. Kowalski in side control, just content to control the action for now. Kowalski throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. An elbow from Kowalski crashes against the mat.
Kowalski working the head with strikes. Kowalski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Thorn tries to escape but Kowalski is in control. Kowalski working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thorn is trying to buck Kowalski off. Thorn is not content to let Kowalski control the position. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Thorn on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Kowalski misses with the ground and pound. Kowalski in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Thorn wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kowalski lands some shots froms side control. Thorn bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Danga de danga de dang - Kowalski scores with a four punch combination!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kowalski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thorn moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Thorn lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Thorn keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kowalski shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Kowalski connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Kowalski lands with an uppercut that bounces Thorn off the cage and back into range. Kowalski swings widly with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Kowalski walks into a straight right hand from Thorn. Haw Thorn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thorn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kowalski sees it coming and avoids it easily. Thorn lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Thorn lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Kowalski goes down and covers up as Thorn starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Haw Thorn! Haw Thorn is the new heavyweight champion! A victorious Haw Thorn thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
