Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin McDade (ranked 2568 p4p, 1852 weight class) and Jacques Swanson (ranked 323 p4p, 251 weight class). Swanson has chosen Gorillaz- Clint Eastwood as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swanson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McDade.
McDade has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Kevin McDade has been cut.
Swanson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
McDade swats away the attempt to clinch by Swanson.
Swanson misses with a hook
and McDade counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Swanson takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Swanson throws a wild body kick that McDade sees coming a mile off.
Swanson is looking to chop away at McDade's legs.

It looked like McDade was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Swanson.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've been told by McDade's head coaches at Hammer House of Horror that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
McDade moves out of range of the body kick from Swanson.
Swanson throws a head kick but McDade moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from McDade on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Swanson pivots, looking for a leg kick but McDade is out of range and Swanson settles back down.
McDade swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Swanson.
McDade throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Swanson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McDade has time to react.
Swanson tries to score with a low kick but McDade moves his leg out of the way.

Swanson throws a lazy right hand but McDade sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
McDade fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Swanson on the side of the head.

and McDade counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Swanson thinking.
McDade throws the kick towards the body but Swanson avoids it.

and McDade connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McDade throws a head kick but Swanson moves out of range.

McDade swats away the attempt to clinch by Swanson.
Crunch! Swanson slams his shin into McDade's torso.
McDade throws a jab but it's blocked by Swanson.
Swanson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Swanson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McDade has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McDade and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
McDade was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Swanson feints and then cracks McDade's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McDade down.
Swanson throws a low kick but McDade moves out of range easily.
Swanson walks into a left hand.

McDade swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A head kick misses from Swanson.
McDade throws a jab when Swanson was well out of range.
McDade fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

and McDade counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
