Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Albert Hofmann (ranked 1978 p4p, 3687 weight class) and Topf Deckel (ranked 251 p4p, 424 weight class). Hofmann's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Trip Like I Do. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Topf Deckel enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hofmann connects with a nice looking jab.

Deckel closes the distance and clinches up with Hofmann, looking for a takedown. Deckel pushes Hofmann against the cage but Hofmann circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Deckel has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Deckel dives in and grabs Hofmann's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hofmann pushes down on Deckel's head and hops out.
A quick step to the side and Hofmann tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Deckel takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Deckel shoots in looking for a takedown. Hofmann tries to sprawl out of it but Deckel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hofmann manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
