Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jerome Dawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eddy Moura!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moura shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dawkins as he avoids it easily.
No luck for Dawkins with that takedown attempt.
Moura tries a head kick but it misses.
As Moura tries to get set, Dawkins tries to push him back and clinch up but Moura manages to avoid the attempt.
Dawkins moves into range and clinches up with Moura.
Dawkins stalls.

Dawkins jumps into guard, dragging Moura to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dawkins holds on and takes a little breather.

Dawkins is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Moura presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Dawkins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Moura tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dawkins sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Moura somewhat.

and Dawkins moves into the clinch.
Moura tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dawkins smiles and moves away.
Moura tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dawkins sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Moura somewhat.

Dawkins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Moura is fending him off so far but Dawkins persists. Nope, Moura circles away and we're back to standing.
Dawkins darts in looking for a takedown but Moura gets double underhooks and turns Dawkins into the cage.
Dawkins wants to take the fight to the mat but Moura manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Moura stops a takedown attempt from Dawkins.
Moura jumps guard and drags Dawkins to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Moura is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Moura controls Dawkins momentarily but Dawkins frees himself.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dawkins shoots in for a takedown but Moura shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Moura tries to clinch up.

and Moura counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Moura pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Moura tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dawkins swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dawkins ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Dawkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moura's waist but Moura gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dawkins off to one side.
Moura looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Dawkins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moura on the ground.
Dawkins tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Moura wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jerome Dawkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Moura wants to control but Dawkins is keeping him busy.

Moura has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Dawkins!
