Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Parru Mountain (ranked 4168 p4p, 3218 weight class) and Breno Bastos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Parru Mountain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Breno Bastos!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mountain is fending him off so far but Bastos persists. Nope, Mountain circles away and we're back to standing.
Mountain throws a lazy right hand but Bastos sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bastos lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Mountain wants to clinch up but Bastos keeps it at a distance.
Bastos darts in looking for a takedown but Mountain gets double underhooks and turns Bastos into the cage.
Danga de danga de dang - Bastos scores with a four punch combination!
Bastos blocks a jab.
Bastos checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
A lazy left from Mountain finds it's target.
Bastos stuns Mountain with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Mountain keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mountain throwing a counter right hand but Bastos manages to avoid it.

Mountain doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mountain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bastos was well out of range. Poor timing from Mountain.

Bastos rushes Mountain and presses him up against the cage.

Bastos tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Mountain is trying to control. Bastos wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bastos is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mountain sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Mountain is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bastos is keeping busy.
Mountain swings wildly with an uppercut but Bastos uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bastos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Mountain lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Bastos looks for a takedown but Mountain sprawls well.
Mountain slips a jab and a cross from Bastos.

Bastos throws a series of strikes that have Mountain backpedaling.

Bastos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bastos is leaning against Mountain and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Bastos lands with a left to the head.
Bastos stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Mountain throws a punch but it's blocked by Bastos.

Bastos jumps guard and drags Mountain to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Bastos wants to get back to his feet but Mountain is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bastos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mountain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Bastos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mountain swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mountain throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bastos gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Mountain tries to keep at a distance but Bastos has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mountain stalling in the clinch but Bastos improves position.
Mountain can't find room to land a body shot as Bastos controls the action.

Bastos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Breno Bastos seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bastos cracks a nice hook into Mountain's ribs.
Bastos scores with a one two! Mountain had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mountain shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Bastos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mountain got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bastos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mountain has managed to get both his arms back between Bastos's legs - danger averted.

Well Bastos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
