Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Petr Metr!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metr cracks Johnson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

It looks like James Johnson has been cut.
Metr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johnson lands a lovely overhand right.
Metr misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Johnson to counter with a crisp jab.

Metr has managed to clinch.
Johnson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Johnson misses with a hook from the clinch.
Metr drops down looking for an ankle pick but Johnson pulls his leg out and moves away.
James Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Petr Metr.

Johnson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Metr. Metr circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Johnson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Metr on the side of the head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Metr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Metr drops his hands momentarily and Johnson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Metr takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Johnson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Metr.
Johnson loads up on a big right hand but Metr slips the punch.
Johnson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Metr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Metr goes for a double leg but Johnson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Johnson continues to drive forward.

Johnson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Metr fails in his attempt to clinch.

The crowd cheers as Johnson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Metr doesn't seem phased though.
Metr shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Metr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Johnson lands with a good body shot.
Metr takes one to the chin there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Johnson throws a series of punches but Metr avoids them all with ease.
Metr closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Metr pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
James Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Johnson cracks a nice hook into Metr's ribs.
Johnson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
A slow jab from Johnson misses its intended target.
Metr shapes to counter with a head kick.

Metr scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Johnson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Metr bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Despite the aggression on Metr's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Metr shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Metr has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Johnson lands a slapping body shot.
Metr slips under a jab from Johnson.

Johnson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Metr walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Metr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Metr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.

Johnson wants to stand up but Metr is controlling him.
Johnson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Metr dives into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Johnson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Metr tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.
Johnson is trying to buck Metr off.

Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Metr on the ground.

Metr has hold of Johnson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Johnson seems comfortable defending it but Metr has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Johnson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Johnson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Metr couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Petr Metr!
A very excited looking Petr Metr made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
