Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Micah Hawk (ranked 4604 p4p, 24137 weight class) and Barry Bass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Micah Hawk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barry Bass! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Bass tries to sprawl but Hawk drives through with a takedown into half guard. Hawk is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bass doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hawk. Bass has hold of Hawk's hands but Hawk slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Bass really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hawk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hawk wants to work for an arm triangle but Bass is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hawk seems to be working for a kimura but Bass defends the submission attempt. Bass wants to improve his position but Hawk is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bass actively working from the bottom here. Hawk is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bass is just riding it out for now. Hawk eventually gives up the hold. Bass is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bass is not content to let Hawk control the position. Bass looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Hawk looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hawk is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bass doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hawk. Hawk seems to be looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hawk working the head and body with strikes. Hawk is working for a kimura but Bass is defending it quite comfortably.
Hawk throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bass wants to sweep but Hawk has passed to side control! Bass is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hawk throws a strike aimed at the side of Bass's head but Bass avoids it well. Bass dodges the ground and pound from Hawk. Hawk is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bass knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hawk looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bass is trying to control Hawk's posture but Hawk avoids it. Hawk has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Bass is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hawk yanks on the arm and Bass is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hawk.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Micah Hawk! A relieved looking Micah Hawk thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
