PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Dye (ranked 139 p4p, 2477 weight class) and Colins White (ranked 18 p4p, 323 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Dye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Colins White!
The judges for this bout are Roosa J�rvil�inen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters circling a little - White finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
White throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
White keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dye.
Despite the aggression on White's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
White misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dye on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
White fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Dye has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A jab from Dye misses.
Dye misses with a hook. White ducked under it nicely.
White looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
White takes a swing at Dye's ribcage but misses.
Dye swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
White throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and White counters with a nice kick to the body.

White throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dye.
Dye was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

White has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Jack Dye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

White ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
White looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
White is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Dye rather than just go for the knockout.
White walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A looping hook to the body misses from White. Dye does a little dance to reset his feet.
White takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
White lands a nice hook to Dye's body. Dye takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

White throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
White ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

White lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dye circles away quickly and effectively.
White uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dye.

Dye throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
White is looking for the big counter here.
Dye looks to land a left hand but White moved out of range nicely.
White looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

White tries to land a front kick but Dye steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Colins White dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

White takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Dye avoids a kick to the body.
White stalks Dye and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dye's face. Dye staggers backwards, shaken.
Colins White is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
White connects with a body shot that sends Dye's belly button to the back.
Dye scores with a sloppy right hand. White should have avoided that one.
White throws a head kick but Dye moves out of range.
Dye has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Dye might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

White throws a hook to the side of Dye's head but Dye sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
White lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dye circles away quickly and effectively.
Dye jabs White right on the nose. White blinks but takes it well.

White is rocked!
Dye drops White with a straight left! Oh this is bad for White! Dye dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Dye!
