Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wang Chung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jules Ann!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ann tries to score with a low kick but Chung moves his leg out of the way.
Chung wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Jab by Ann.

Ann has taken the fight to the clinch.
Chung working aggressively here.
Chung blocks an elbow strike from Ann.

Ann breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A big left from Ann misses.
Chung is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
That kick from Ann tenderised Chung's leg. Chung is trying to keep his angry face on.
Ann throws a right hand that misses
and Chung connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ann checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ann is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Chung looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ann fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Chung has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Ann throws a combination. Chung tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Wang Chung seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Chung drives through with a takedown into Ann's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ann can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ann is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Chung has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ann wants to sweep here but Chung controlling him for the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ann is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Chung scores with a couple of nice shots.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chung looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Chung lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Chung throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ann throws a leg kick which misses Chung's front leg but catches the back leg as Chung tries to avoid it.
Chung takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Chung tries to clinch
and Ann counters with a left to the body.
Ann closes the distance looking to clinch
and Chung counters with a nice uppercut.
Chung bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ann's head backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ann tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Chung manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ann throws a right hand that Chung ducks under and follows up with a left that Chung also avoids with ease.
Ann uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chung.

Chung fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ann manages to avoid it.
Ann looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Chung closes the distance and pushes Ann back into the cage.

Chung has clasped his hands together around Ann's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Ann tries to bench press Chung off him but Chung keeps the position.
Chung is putting a hurting on Ann here, landing some big shots from side control.

Ann parries the strikes from Chung easily there. Chung is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ann to escape.

Chung works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wang Chung overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chung cracks Ann with a big elbow.
Ann is still in real trouble! Can Chung finish him?
Ann really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chung. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ann seems to have recovered his senses.
The strikes coming from Chung are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Ann is trying to control Chung's posture but Chung avoids it.

Chung content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Chung lands a big left to the face of Ann, bouncing his head like a basketball. Another shot from Chung and another - Ann is out! Chung stands up and salutes his fans, who are going crazy in the stands.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Wang Chung!
Wang Chung decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
