Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Estacio da Fonseca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gianfranco Zola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). da Fonseca comes to the cage accompanied by "Chokechain" - 3oh!3. Zola has chosen Balls to the Wall as his entrance music. Gianfranco Zola acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gianfranco Zola!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
da Fonseca misses with a two punch combination.
Zola misses with a looping left.
da Fonseca slips under a jab.
da Fonseca takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
da Fonseca ducks under a wild hook from Zola.
Estacio da Fonseca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
da Fonseca drives through with a takedown into guard.
Zola preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Zola doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
da Fonseca trying to control the position from guard on top but Zola is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
da Fonseca stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zola swivels though and keeps the full guard.
da Fonseca is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
da Fonseca won't allow Zola to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
da Fonseca wants to pass the guard but Zola is keeping the position.

da Fonseca postures up in Zola's guard and throws a big left but Zola blocks it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Zola throws a jab when da Fonseca was well out of range.
da Fonseca tries to clinch up but Zola circles away and keeps his distance.
Zola closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming da Fonseca to the mat! da Fonseca manages to get full guard.
da Fonseca can't keep his opponent in guard - Zola advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
da Fonseca is refusing to be controlled, as Zola sits in half guard.
da Fonseca is looking for a sweep. Zola is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Zola tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Zola looks to land a strike but da Fonseca avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Zola has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
da Fonseca throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

da Fonseca is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

da Fonseca controls Zola momentarily but Zola frees himself.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Zola wants to hit a switch here but da Fonseca passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Zola there!
Zola is looking to get to half guard.
Zola is trying to reverse the position but instead da Fonseca has taken his back - oops!

da Fonseca is trying to stick to Zola's back but Zola is turning into da Fonseca. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in da Fonseca's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Zola.

da Fonseca wants to sweep here but Zola controlling him for the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Zola displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from da Fonseca.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
da Fonseca fails with the takedown.
Zola lands a nice hook to da Fonseca's body. da Fonseca takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
da Fonseca shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
da Fonseca throwing strikes here but Zola is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
da Fonseca swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Zola is now in da Fonseca's guard. A big mistake from da Fonseca there, giving up the dominant position!

A close round but Gianfranco Zola will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

da Fonseca walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Zola missing with a left hand there. da Fonseca was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Zola counters with a crisp right that sends da Fonseca to the canvas! Zola follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
