PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jae Woon Ki (ranked 3936 p4p, 4014 weight class) and Ty Rawlins (ranked 0 p4p, 350 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ty Rawlins!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ki misses with a combination

so Rawlins counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Rawlins with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Rawlins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rawlins circles away quickly and effectively.
Ki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ki tries to bum rush Rawlins with a series of wild strikes but Rawlins uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Ki's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Rawlins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rawlins slips a jab and a cross from Ki.

Rawlins connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ki some visible discomfort.
Rawlins cracks Ki with a big right hand but Ki just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
