Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Salazar Mendez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucas Traumen!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez throws a series of punches but Traumen moves out of range.
Mendez looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Mendez slips a jab from Traumen.
A telegraphed right hand from Traumen misses the target.
Mendez tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Traumen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Traumen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mendez has time to react.
Traumen throws out a loose jab but Mendez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Traumen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mendez steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Traumen.
Mendez tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Traumen manages to circle out of the way.
Mendez fails to land with a series of punches.
Traumen throws a shot from downtown. Mendez moves away and avoids it.
Salazar Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A big left from Traumen misses.
Traumen lands with a good body shot.
Traumen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mendez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mendez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Traumen counters with a crisp right hand that drops Mendez! Traumen lets Mendez back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Mendez is rocked!

Mendez is holding his hands too far apart here. Traumen throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Mendez is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

After winning the bout, Lucas Traumen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
