Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Masakatsu Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toninho Ligeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lose Yourself. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Masakatsu Gomi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Toninho Ligeiro!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ligeiro moves in looking to clinch but Gomi pushes him off.
Ligeiro shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gomi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ligeiro is trying to stand up here but Gomi is controlling him well.
Gomi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gomi is keen to just control but Ligeiro is a slippery customer.
Gomi works his way into full mount!
Gomi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Gomi avoids the attempt from Ligeiro to control.
Ligeiro is in all sorts of trouble here.
Gomi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ligeiro is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ligeiro and Gomi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Ligeiro is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Gomi is controlling him well.
Gomi looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gomi passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Ligeiro!

Ligeiro wants to control but Gomi is having none of it.
Gomi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ligeiro can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Ligeiro is in all sorts of trouble here.

Gomi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ligeiro manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Gomi is breathing heavily.
Ligeiro is looking to regain half guard here but Gomi keeps moving and retains side control.
Ligeiro gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gomi wants to pass to mount but Ligeiro is defending the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ligeiro is trying to stand up here but Gomi is controlling him well.
Gomi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ligeiro sees it coming and defends easily.
Gomi wants to free his trapped foot but Ligeiro is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gomi passes to side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gomi is looking to take a break and control but Ligeiro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Masakatsu Gomi dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ligeiro steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Gomi. That one must have hurt.
Ligeiro rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gomi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gomi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gomi works over Ligeiro's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Toninho Ligeiro has been cut.
Danga de danga de dang - Gomi scores with a four punch combination!
Gomi misses with a body shot.
Gomi blocks a head kick by Ligeiro.
Ligeiro throws a nice looking combination but Gomi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ligeiro shoots in and drives through. Gomi sprawls well.
Ligeiro walks into a left hand.
Gomi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Gomi connects with a right hand. Ligeiro shakes it off.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gomi uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ligeiro has time to react.
Gomi thumps Ligeiro with a low kick.
Gomi blocks a head kick by Ligeiro.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A combination from Ligeiro does no damage.
Gomi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Gomi misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ligeiro tries to clinch there but Gomi circles away.
Gomi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gomi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ligeiro!
Gomi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gomi working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Ligeiro looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Gomi! Submission of the night perhaps?
