Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikail Spartakov (ranked 1535 p4p, 1103 weight class) and Andriy Yarmalenko (ranked 197 p4p, 146 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andriy Yarmalenko!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartakov throws a head kick but Yarmalenko moves out of range.
Yarmalenko's coach down at Casa Steel was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Yarmalenko's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Spartakov throws a lazy uppercut
and Yarmalenko counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Mikail Spartakov has been cut.
Spartakov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Yarmalenko sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Spartakov punishes Yarmalenko's body with a nice straight punch.
Spartakov misses with a double jab
and Yarmalenko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Spartakov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yarmalenko manages to avoid it.
Spartakov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Spartakov throws a sloppy head kick and Yarmalenko moves out of range easily.
Yarmalenko let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

letting Yarmalenko counter with a right hand.
Mikail Spartakov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yarmalenko takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Spartakov loads up on a big right hand but Yarmalenko slips the punch.

It looks like Andriy Yarmalenko has been cut.

Yarmalenko scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Spartakov doesn't seem bothered though.

and Yarmalenko counters with a stiff right hand.

Yarmalenko moves out of range of the body kick.
Yarmalenko appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Spartakov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yarmalenko jabs Spartakov to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Yarmalenko takes a jab right on the kisser.
Yarmalenko fakes the leg kick and cracks Spartakov in the body.
Spartakov is breathing heavily.

Yarmalenko closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Spartakov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Yarmalenko counters with a nice uppercut.

Mikail Spartakov's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Spartakov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Yarmalenko.
Spartakov lands a big uppercut and Yarmalenko crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Yarmalenko looks OK. Spartakov waves Yarmalenko back to his feet!
Yarmalenko is rocked!
That has opened up Andriy Yarmalenko's cut even more.
Yarmalenko drops his hands momentarily. Spartakov doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Yarmalenko staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Yarmalenko doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mikail Spartakov!
