Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Prat Amaro (ranked 4220 p4p, 4124 weight class) and Matheus Ayres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Prat Amaro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matheus Ayres!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amaro shoots in but Ayres avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Amaro tries a head kick but it misses.
Ayres tries to counter with a clinch but Amaro shakes him off and moves away.

Ayres moves into range and clinches up with Amaro.
Ayres with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Ayres gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Amaro.
Amaro is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Amaro blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amaro throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ayres blocks it with crossed arms.
Amaro prevents the takedown attempt.

Amaro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Amaro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ayres counters with a straight right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Prat Amaro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ayres darts in looking for a takedown but Amaro gets double underhooks and turns Ayres into the cage.
A quick step to the side and Amaro tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Amaro stuffs the takedown attempt from Ayres. Ayres gets slowly back to his feet.
Amaro takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Ayres shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Amaro is trying to defend but Ayres finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Amaro scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Ayres manages to mount him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ayres takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Amaro tries to hold on but Ayres postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ayres quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Ayres but it's paid off an Amaro is forced to tap! Nice work by Ayres.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Matheus Ayres!
