Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ridley Scott (ranked 3648 p4p, 3865 weight class) and Mark The Hammer (ranked 424 p4p, 438 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ridley Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark The Hammer! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Hammer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scott tries to avoid it but The Hammer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scott to the ground. Scott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Scott seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Scott has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Blacksmith MMA Gym in the buildup to the fight. Scott throws a nice looking combination but The Hammer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The Hammer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Scott looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Scott explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Scott throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The Hammer instigates a clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Scott lands a left hand that snaps the head of The Hammer backwards. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as The Hammer takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. The Hammer tries for a takedown but Scott manages to get underhooks.

Ridley Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark The Hammer. Scott misses with a hook to the ribs.

The Hammer prevents a body shot from Scott. Scott prevents the takedown attempt.
The Hammer is pressed up against the cage. Scott has hold of a leg and is looking to drag The Hammer down to the mat. The Hammer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Scott wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Hammer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The Hammer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Scott has escaped the position, nice work there. The Hammer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Scott is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Scott tries to control but The Hammer manages to take his back. The Hammer has his arm under Scott's chin here. Game over son! The Hammer squeezes tightly and Scott is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mark The Hammer!
