Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ty Rawlins (ranked 3401 p4p, 5028 weight class) and Kang Richards (ranked 311 p4p, 357 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ty Rawlins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kang Richards!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rawlins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Richards's waist but Richards gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rawlins off to one side.
Richards drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rawlins defends it well.
Rawlins swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Richards circles away from the clinch attempt

and Richards counters with a takedown into side control.
Rawlins wants to get back to his feet but Richards drags him back down.
Rawlins regains half guard.
Richards really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rawlins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rawlins has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rawlins pushes Richards off looking to stand but Richards dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Rawlins closes the distance and clinches up with Richards, looking for a takedown. Rawlins pushes Richards against the cage but Richards circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Richards drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rawlins defends it well.

Rawlins is trying to control Richards's posture but Richards avoids it.
Richards is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Rawlins will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rawlins is trying to get back to his feet.
Richards is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rawlins's shoulder. That is not cool.
Let's hope that Richards has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Richards might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kang Richards has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rawlins is looking to reverse the position.
Richards moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The adventures of Richards the control monster continue. Boring.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Richards remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Kang Richards comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Richards has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
