And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 15 wins and 5 losses; Tendren Hlervu! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Schaubi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Schaubi jumps into guard, dragging Hlervu to the mat.
Hlervu drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Schaubi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hlervu has Schaubi in his guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Schaubi (2) vs (0) Hlervu Schaubi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Schaubi (5) vs (0) Hlervu Hlervu tries to get back to half guard but can't. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schaubi gets back to half guard. Schaubi tries to roll over but Hlervu keeps him under control. Schaubi is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Tosen's Home for Lost Boys, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
