Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vadym Yashchenko (ranked 3896 p4p, 3974 weight class) and Al Carpenter (ranked 441 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vadym Yashchenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Al Carpenter! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Darius Henderson.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carpenter slips a straight right by Yashchenko. Yashchenko throws an overhand right that lands on Carpenter's shoulder, as Carpenter tries to avoid the shot.
Carpenter shoots in and gets a takedown into Yashchenko's guard. Yashchenko wants to sweep here but Carpenter controlling him for the moment. Yashchenko not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yashchenko will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Carpenter stopping the sweep attempt from Yashchenko. Yashchenko is trying to keep Carpenter in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yashchenko is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Carpenter is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Carpenter wanted to stand there but Yashchenko had control of the position.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Yashchenko is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Carpenter's half guard. Carpenter keeping control of the position. Yashchenko wants to take a breather but Carpenter is having none of it. Yashchenko lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Yashchenko tries to pass the half guard into mount. Carpenter knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Yashchenko wants to take a breather but Carpenter is having none of it. Yashchenko prevents Carpenter from improving his position. Yashchenko lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Carpenter is not content to let Yashchenko control the position. Yashchenko lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Yashchenko not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yashchenko is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Yashchenko lands strikes from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yashchenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carpenter keeps working. Yashchenko seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.  Carpenter is rocked! Yashchenko working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Carpenter is still in real trouble! Can Yashchenko finish him? Carpenter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yashchenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Carpenter looks winded!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Yashchenko lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Carpenter quite badly. Carpenter pulls Yashchenko in close trying to recover. Yashchenko postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Carpenter on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Carpenter doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vadym Yashchenko! Vadym Yashchenko decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
