Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Shields (ranked 2860 p4p, 5399 weight class) and Bernardo Sacatropez (ranked 348 p4p, 512 weight class). Shields comes to the cage accompanied by Seven Nation Army. Bernardo Sacatropez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bernardo Sacatropez !
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sacatropez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shields defends well and Sacatropez ends up having to push Shields into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Sacatropez closes the distance but Shields moves to the side
letting Shields counter with a right hand.
Sacatropez fails in his attempt to clinch.
Shields fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sacatropez manages to avoid it.
Sacatropez goes for a double leg but Shields avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Shields continues to drive forward.
A punch combination from Sacatropez misses.
Shields throwing a counter right hand but Sacatropez manages to avoid it.
Shields tries to land a leg kick but Sacatropez saw it coming and moves away.
Shields misses with a wild combination.
Jake Shields seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shields leaves Sacatropez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jake Shields has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bernardo Sacatropez .
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shields circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shields misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sacatropez .
Shields shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sacatropez 's guard.

Shields sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sacatropez 's guard.

Shields is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Shields wants to work for an arm triangle but Sacatropez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Shields passes to side control.
Shields has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Sacatropez is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Shields yanks on the arm and Sacatropez is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Shields.

In his post fight interview, Jake Shields started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
