Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luis Maestre (ranked 403 p4p, 165 weight class) and Gregory Motts (ranked 16 p4p, 5 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 34 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luis Maestre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 28 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregory Motts! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maestre throws a right and a left that Motts avoids nicely. The fighters circle momentarily. Maestre darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Luis Maestre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A lazy left from Maestre finds it's target. Maestre misses with a double jab
and Motts counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Motts cracks Maestre with an open hand slap. Motts gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Maestre looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Maestre pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A little jabbing left from Motts on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Maestre throws a right hand that Motts ducks under and follows up with a left that Motts also avoids with ease. Motts with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Maestre to score with a decent uppercut. This has been an exciting period of action! Maestre misses with a body shot
and Motts counters with a lovely straight right hand! A jab from Maestre misses. Motts avoids a punch combination nicely.
Motts moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Motts staying out of range there. Motts avoids a punch combination nicely.
Maestre connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Motts slips under a jab from Maestre. Maestre swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Motts throws out a counter right but Maestre avoids it with no problem. Maestre throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Maestre scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Motts misses with a right hand and Maestre connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Motts throws a poor cross that misses
and Maestre counters with a nice uppercut.
Motts is rocked! Motts throws a jab when Maestre was well out of range. Maestre falls off balance throwing a combination
and Motts counters with a stiff right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Maestre closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Motts out cold! Motts corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Luis Maestre! Post fight, Luis Maestre took to the microphone: 'UPSET OF THE FUCKING YEAR BABY'.
