Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 41 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lyle Alzado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Earnie Shavers!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shavers avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Alzado is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Shavers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shavers connects with a solid leg kick.
Alzado shoots for a takedown but Shavers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Alzado has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Shavers.
Shavers dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Alzado. That did some damage!
Alzado will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Shavers instigates a clinch.
Alzado with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Shavers lands a right hand.
Shavers lands a damaging elbow.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Shavers takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Shavers obliges.
Alzado is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shavers lands an elbow that stopped Alzado in his tracks for a moment.
Shavers blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Shavers will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Alzado up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Shavers lands a good knee to the midsection. Alzado won't want to take too many of those.
Shavers lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Shavers cracks Alzado with a nice body shot.
Nice elbow from Shavers.
It looks like Lyle Alzado has been cut.
Shavers stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Alzado looking to throw knees to the head but Shavers is blocking nicely.
Shavers digs a right hand into Alzado's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Alzado's gas tank.
Shavers lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Alzado is rocked!
Shavers dips a shoulder and cracks Alzado with a mighty uppercut! Alzado falls back against the cage and Shavers unloads with a barrage of strikes! Alzado is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Shavers screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
