Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lutalo Masamba (ranked 1557 p4p, 2158 weight class) and Uwot Meight (ranked 201 p4p, 274 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lutalo Masamba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Uwot Meight!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meight shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Masamba lands a nice shot that snaps Meight's head back.

Masamba closes the distance and clinches.
Meight tries to circle away but Masamba has him pinned against the cage.

Meight pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Meight is looking to land body kicks.
Meight avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Meight thuds his shin into the meat of Masamba's side.
Masamba looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Masamba throws a hook but Meight blocks it.
Meight looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Masamba lands an overhand right.
A looping hook to the body misses from Meight. Masamba does a little dance to reset his feet.
It looked like Masamba wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Meight fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Meight uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Masamba.
Meight let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Masamba feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Meight sprawling to the canvas! Meight rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Masamba finish him?!

It looks like Uwot Meight has been cut.
Masamba moves out of range of the body kick.
Masamba fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Meight manages to avoid it.
Masamba throws a poor cross that misses
and Meight counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Masamba thinking.
A slow jab from Masamba misses its intended target.
Meight displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Masamba throws out the jab.
It seemed like Meight was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Masamba throws a hook but Meight avoids it easily.
Masamba rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Meight counters with a slapping leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Meight gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Masamba throws a looping overhand right but Meight ducks down to avoid it.
Meight throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Masamba stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Masamba throws a hook but Meight blocks it.

Masamba takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Masamba instigates a clinch.
Meight can't break the clinch.
Meight tries to break the clinch but Masamba is controlling the position.
Masamba fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Masamba keeps control of Meight as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Meight wants to break free but Masamba has control.
Meight blocks an uppercut.
Meight wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Masamba has him pressed against the cage.
Masamba lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Meight backwards.

Masamba pulls guard.
Meight wants to control from the top but Masamba keeps moving.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Masamba is on top in guard.

Masamba is stalling in the full guard.
Meight is looking to sweep but instead, Masamba has passed into half guard.
Meight is looking to get back to full guard here but Masamba has managed to pass to side control instead.
Meight tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Meight wants to hold on but Masamba pushes him away.
Meight is wriggling around trying to escape.
Masamba controlling the position easily from mount.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Lutalo Masamba dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Masamba tries to close the distance and clinch but Meight swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

enabling Meight to counter with a crisp jab.

Meight replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Masamba blocks it well.
Masamba rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Meight counters with a thumping low kick.
Meight listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Masamba scores with a leg kick.
Meight on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Masamba scores with a jab to the head.
Masamba cracks Meight with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Masamba thows a leg kick but Meight checks it
and Meight counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Masamba has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Masamba throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Meight keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Masamba tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Meight manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Meight steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Meight lets loose with a powerful body kick. Masamba will feel that in the morning.
An inside leg kick lands from Masamba.
Masamba tries to clinch but fails miserably
enabling Meight to counter with a crisp jab.
Meight slips a straight right by Masamba.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Meight! But no joy.
Nice uppercut lands for Masamba. That snapped Meight's head back.
Meight is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Masamba rather than just go for the knockout.

Lutalo Masamba is winning the standup battle so far.
Masamba misses with a wild body shot.
Meight with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Masamba misses with a looping right.
Masamba ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Meight moves away.
A countering left hand to the body from Meight misses.

Meight throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Masamba sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Masamba is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Meight.
Masamba is looking to clinch.
Masamba connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Meight fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Masamba.
Oh Masamba is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Masamba misses with a looping right.
Masamba bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Meight comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Masamba falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Masamba was out before he hit the floor!
