PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zambosurian Inday (ranked 5844 p4p, 23434 weight class) and Mmm Mmm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mmm Mmm will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 39 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zambosurian Inday!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 55 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mmm Mmm!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Mmm drives through with a takedown into guard.
Inday has control of Mmm's left arm, preventing Mmm from doing any damage.
Mmm trying to control but Inday is working from the bottom.
Inday on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Inday tries to get out of the position.
Mmm trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Inday manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Mmm trying to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mmm is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Inday is stalling in the full guard.
Mmm will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mmm is looking to stand up but Inday isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Inday shoots in for a takedown but Mmm shows good takedown defense.
Mmm steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Mmm stuffs the takedown attempt from Inday. Inday gets slowly back to his feet.
Mmm thinks about the counter body kick.
Mmm throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Inday's waist but Inday gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mmm off to one side.
Mmm looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Inday is fending him off so far but Mmm persists. Nope, Inday circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mmm closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Inday tries for a takedown but Mmm manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zambosurian Inday. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mmm has hold of one of Inday's legs. Inday is fighting the takedown attempt but Mmm gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Inday is controlling Mmm's posture.
Mmm seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mmm trying to control but Inday is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mmm is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mmm being controlled here momentarily.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mmm Mmm dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mmm throws a head kick that misses.
Inday feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Mmm looks for a takedown but Inday sprawls well.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Inday is defended easily by Mmm.
Mmm counters with a body kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mmm wants to clinch.
Inday quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Mmm fails with a takedown attempt.
Inday throws a quick counter kick to the body but Mmm avoids it.

Inday looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Inday looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Mmm is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Inday controls from within his opponent's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mmm is trying to keep Inday in close.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Nice sprawl there from Inday as Mmm shoots in.
Zambosurian Inday has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mmm Mmm.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Inday drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Inday is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mmm will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Zambosurian Inday dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Inday shoots in and bounces Mmm off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Inday controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Zambosurian Inday overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Inday with a flurry of punches that miss.

Mmm trying to keep a closed guard but Inday is proving a slippery customer.
Inday is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Inday being controlled here momentarily.
Inday sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Inday closes the distance and clinches up with Mmm, looking for a takedown. Inday pushes Mmm against the cage but Mmm circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mmm steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Inday gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mmm counters with a nice body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mmm is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Inday's half guard.
Mmm missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Inday is not content to let Mmm control the position.
Inday controlling the position well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Inday trying to hold on to Mmm's head to control him but Mmm postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mmm wants to control but Inday is keeping him busy.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Zambosurian Inday.
I think Inday has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
