PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stefan Andersson (ranked 2195 p4p, 1700 weight class) and Rufus Rutger (ranked 310 p4p, 247 weight class). Rutger has chosen Wardance as his entrance music. Rufus Rutger told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Andersson postures up in Rutger's guard and throws a big left but Rutger blocks it. Andersson is working Rutger over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Andersson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Andersson, into his guard.
Andersson has his foot on Rutger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rutger works his way back into a safe position though. Andersson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rutger is looking to stand up but Andersson won't let him.
