PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lloyd Blue (ranked 2975 p4p, 3435 weight class) and David Shark (ranked 354 p4p, 391 weight class). Blue comes to the cage accompanied by HonestKey- When I Wake Up. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lloyd Blue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Shark!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shark keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
David Shark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shark scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Shark lands a jab to the head.
Shark scores with a hook to the body. Blue takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Shark does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A swing and a miss from Shark.
A jab from Blue finds it's way through Shark's defenses.
Shark loads up on a big right hand but Blue slips the punch.
Shark looks to land a left hand but Blue moved out of range nicely.
Blue looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Shark fails to land with a series of punches.
Blue tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shark was well out of range. Poor timing from Blue.
Blue throws a solid leg kick but Shark takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Blue.
As Blue backs off Shark throws a huge counter combo but Blue manages to avoid it all.
Shark finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Shark throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Blue counters with a one-two to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shark looks to land a left hand but Blue moved out of range nicely.
Blue takes a swing at Shark's ribcage but misses.
Shark tests Blue's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Blue with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Shark to score with a decent uppercut.

Shark throws a hook but Blue avoids it easily.
Shark misses with an uppercut. Blue saw that one coming.
Blue misses with a low kick.

Blue gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Shark goes for a takedown attempt but Blue pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Shark fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blue manages to avoid it.
Shark throws a nice looking combination but Blue bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Shark has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Blue avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Lloyd Blue has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Shark.

Blue swings wildly with an uppercut but Shark uses good head movement to avoid it.
Blue tries to throw a body punch but Shark avoids it by throwing Blue back against the cage.

Shark has Blue pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Blue manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Blue closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shark jumps guard but Blue turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Shark goes for a takedown attempt but Blue pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

A left and a right from Shark both land. Nice combination.

That was a close round but I would say that Lloyd Blue will probably get the nod.

Shark throws the left hand but Blue avoids the punch easily.
Shark ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Shark swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shark ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blue moves away.

and Blue counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Shark throws a low kick, looking for Blue's leg but Blue calmly moves out of range.

Blue tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shark swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shark moves out of range as Blue strikes.
Blue lands with an uppercut that bounces Shark off the cage and back into range.

Blue throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Shark jabbing away but nothing is landing.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Shark tries to bum rush Blue with a series of wild strikes but Blue uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Blue swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Blue moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
We've been informed that Shark has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Shark fails with the takedown.
Blue wants to land a leg kick but Shark is out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Shark gets tackled into the cage by Blue. Blue maintains the clinch.
Shark is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Blue pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Blue putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Shark in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Blue digs a right hand into Shark's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Shark's gas tank.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's time! Blue's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

A little feinted left hand from Blue on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Blue stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Blue connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Shark momentarily.
Shark tries to clinch but Blue moves out of range.
Shark throws a series of punches but Blue moves out of range.
An inside leg kick lands from Blue.
Blue slips a straight right by Shark.
Shark gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Shark throws a body punch but Blue moves out of range.
Blue connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Shark is rocked!
Blue lands with a thumping leg kick.
Shark is still on wobbly legs! Can Blue finish him?
Shark gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Blue comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Shark stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Blue is on him like rabid pit bull! Shark slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lloyd Blue!
Lloyd Blue decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
