Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Dalton (ranked 2828 p4p, 24681 weight class) and Alexander Shark (ranked 256 p4p, 379 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Dalton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Shark!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dalton tries for a takedown but Shark sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dalton keeps the fight on the outside.
Shark tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
James Dalton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dalton swings for the body but Shark moves out of range.

Shark looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dalton is refusing to be controlled, as Shark sits in half guard.
Dalton is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dalton is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shark pulls his head out easily.
Shark wants to free his trapped foot but Dalton is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Well, if Shark is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Shark is looking for a kimura but Dalton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shark to get the leverage.

Shark trying to control the position from guard on top but Dalton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dalton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shark defends well.

Shark is taking a breather. Dalton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Shark passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Dalton!

Dalton keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shark is nestled in close to Dalton, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Dalton tries to roll over but Shark keeps him under control.

Shark darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Shark is keen to just control but Dalton is a slippery customer.
Shark is taking a breather. Dalton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Shark in particular looking to stall.

Shark is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dalton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Shark uses his free foot to push down on Dalton's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dalton.

Shark content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Shark postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dalton to stand up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dalton.

Shark shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Shark is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Alexander Shark showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Dalton has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Shark has passed into side control.
Shark gets to mount! Dalton was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Shark has hold of Dalton's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dalton manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Dalton is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Shark gets his way!

Shark is persistently looking for the submission but Dalton is defending it well.
Shark slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Well, with Shark on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Dalton is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
I really don't envy Dalton right now.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Alexander Shark comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shark has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Alexander Shark was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
