Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Puma (ranked 3756 p4p, 23245 weight class) and Hristo Borisov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Puma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Hristo Borisov!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borisov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Puma defends well and Borisov ends up having to push Puma into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Puma shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Borisov is trying to defend but Puma finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Puma tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Puma has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Puma is pressing down on Borisov's thigh, looking to free his foot. Borisov is holding on for now.

Puma is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Borisov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Puma sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Borisov's guard.
Puma works his foot free and advances to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Borisov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Puma is persistently looking for the submission but Borisov is defending it well.
Borisov tries to break free.

Puma goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Borisov escapes and is now in half guard on top.
Johnny Puma overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Borisov prevents Puma from improving his position.
Borisov is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Borisov looks to land a strike but Puma avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Puma wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
