Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rudi Kardi (ranked 2038 p4p, 1917 weight class) and Buzz Williamson (ranked 289 p4p, 271 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buzz Williamson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kardi shoots in for a takedown but Williamson shows good takedown defense.
Williamson throws a body shot but no joy.
We've been hearing reports that Kardi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Kardi tries for a takedown but Williamson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Kardi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kardi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kardi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kardi drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Williamson dives on top into guard.
Kardi is looking to cinch up a triangle. Williamson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kardi's body to avoid the submission. Kardi has instead reached around Williamson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kardi arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
