This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 2 losses; Daijiro Kimura! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Nedry McFee! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Kimura stuffs the takedown attempt from McFee. McFee gets slowly back to his feet. Kimura half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. McFee closes the distance and clinches. Kimura ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kimura no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Kimura throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! McFee escapes and throws Kimura's legs to the side, diving into side control! McFee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McFee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. McFee wants to control from the top but Kimura keeps moving. McFee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kimura tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kimura escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McFee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kimura looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McFee trying to control but Kimura is working from the bottom. Kimura had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McFee defends it easily. McFee sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kimura's guard. Kimura is pressing down on McFee's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Kimura working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McFee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McFee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kimura working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because McFee has passed into half guard!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McFee perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. McFee prevents Kimura from improving his position.

Kimura is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McFee pulls his head out easily. Kimura is looking to improve his position.

Kimura drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and McFee dives on top into guard. You can see the frustration on Kimura's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that's the end of the fight! McFee wins on points by 23 to 2. A relieved looking Nedry McFee thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
