Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oda Musashi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dersu Uzala!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uzala has a takedown stuffed.
Musashi fails with the takedown

and Uzala counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Musashi's guard now.
Uzala wants to stand but Musashi is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Musashi looking to control.

Musashi is working an open guard so Uzala takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Musashi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Uzala tries to kick Musashi off but Musashi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Musashi is working for a submission of some sort.
Musashi is looking to take a break and control but Uzala is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Uzala pushes Musashi off looking to stand but Musashi dives back in and keeps control.
Musashi wants to pass to mount but Uzala is defending the position.

Musashi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Uzala is just riding it out for now. Musashi eventually gives up the hold.
Uzala is looking to escape.

Musashi is working for a kimura but Uzala is defending it quite comfortably.
Uzala looks like he's trying to stand up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Musashi counters with a shoot takedown. Uzala fights it but they end up in guard.

Musashi trying to control the position from guard on top but Uzala is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Musashi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Uzala manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Musashi has Uzala in his guard.

Uzala stands and steps away. Musashi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Oda Musashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Uzala tries for a takedown but Musashi circles away easily

and Musashi counters with a shoot takedown. Uzala fights it but they end up in guard.
Oda Musashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dersu Uzala.
Uzala wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Musashi manages to pass to side control.

Musashi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Musashi wants to work for an arm triangle but Uzala is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Uzala is looking to escape.

Uzala is defending against the submission attempts here by Musashi.
Uzala looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Musashi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Uzala!

Musashi throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Uzala has his hands clasped together but Musashi breaks the hold and Uzala is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Musashi!
