Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joel Miller (ranked 1171 p4p, 2779 weight class) and Kambei Shimada (ranked 170 p4p, 360 weight class). Shimada has chosen Seven Samurai as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kambei Shimada was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Joel Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kambei Shimada! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimada is looking to clinch but Miller is avoiding it.
Shimada looks to clinch and Miller counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. A looping hook to the body misses from Shimada. Miller does a little dance to reset his feet. Miller scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Shimada tries to clinch up but Miller circles away and keeps his distance. Shimada throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Joel Miller has been cut. Shimada instigates a clinch. Shimada tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Miller throws a head punch that misses. Shimada pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Miller blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Miller lands a left hand.

Miller lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shimada backwards. Shimada lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Miller blocking some punches.

Miller swings wildly with an uppercut but Shimada uses good head movement to avoid it. Shimada lands a damaging elbow. Miller can't find room to land a body shot as Shimada controls the action.

Shimada throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Miller blocks it with crossed arms.

Shimada lands a nice leg kick that just misses Miller's sensitive parts. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Miller slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Shimada tries to clinch but fails miserably and Miller counters with a nice uppercut. A shot to the liver by Shimada. Beautiful body shot. Shimada misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Miller connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Miller works Shimada's body with a nice hook. Miller moves into range and connects with a jab. Miller moves out of range as Shimada strikes. Shimada lands a nice shot to the body.
Miller uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shimada. Miller lands a lovely overhand right. Shimada throws an off balance right hand
and Miller counters with a left to the body. Kambei Shimada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shimada looks winded!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shimada gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Miller gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joel Miller! A victorious Joel Miller thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter. Kambei Shimada was interviewed post fight and said 'I commit seppuku tomorrow'.
