Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 24349 p4p, 24268 weight class) and Kulata Bitok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kulata Bitok has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kulata Bitok! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Buktot keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bitok throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Buktot's waist but Buktot gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bitok off to one side. No luck for Buktot with that takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buktot moves out of range of the body kick. Buktot throws a counter high kick but Bitok was just alert enough to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bitok. It appears Buktot was looking to counter with a kick there. Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kulata Bitok. Bitok is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Buktot's half guard. Buktot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bitok is working away from the top position though. Bitok stalling away here and it's allowed Buktot to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buktot is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Bitok stays in close to Buktot's body and controls the position. Buktot has Bitok pulled in close to control his posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Buktot leaves Bitok with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. And Buktot counters with a quick kick to the body but Bitok blocks it. Buktot shoots in and drives through. Bitok sprawls well. And Bitok responds with a good body kick, but Buktot manages to step out the way in time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Buktot thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Bitok if he has to take too many more of those.
Bitok drives through with a takedown into Buktot's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Buktot tries to land a sweep but no joy. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buktot controlling Bitok's posture. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kulata Bitok dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Buktot shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bitok as he jumps to the side. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bitok is defended easily by Buktot. And Buktot counters with a quick kick to the body but Bitok blocks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buktot closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bitok circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bitok is trying hard to land a takedown here. Buktot sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Buktot gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bitok controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bitok trying to control but Buktot is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bitok sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Buktot's guard. Bitok controlling the action here. Buktot is doing well to control the position and prevent Bitok from advancing to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bitok is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Buktot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bitok is working away from the top position though.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Bitok bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buktot tries to improve position but can't. Bitok is staying tight to Buktot's torso, preventing him from escaping. Bitok wants to lay and pray for a moment but Buktot keeps working. Buktot tries to bench press Bitok off him but Bitok keeps the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kulata Bitok showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round! Buktot misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Bitok shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Buktot is trying to defend but Bitok finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buktot wants to improve his position but Bitok is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bitok is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Bitok has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Buktot preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Buktot is looking for a sweep. Bitok is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Buktot is doing well to control the position and prevent Bitok from advancing to side control.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buktot closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Buktot lands in his opponent's guard. Buktot being controlled here momentarily. Bitok keeping moving, preventing Buktot from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bitok looking to hit a scissor sweep but Buktot is one step ahead there. Dawindi Buktot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kulata Bitok is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Buktot pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bitok is keeping the position for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Kulata Bitok comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Bitok winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
