Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eric Dier (ranked 1662 p4p, 2109 weight class) and Todd Packer (ranked 216 p4p, 268 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Todd Packer enters the cage!

With a record of 29 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Todd Packer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Packer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Dier throws a strike aimed at the side of Packer's head but Packer avoids it well.
Dier is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Packer's shoulder. That is not cool.
Dier's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Dier wants to control but Packer is keeping him busy.
Packer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dier wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dier wants to lay and pray for a moment but Packer keeps working.
Well, if Dier is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Dier wants to advance to full mount but Packer doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Dier wants to control from the top but Packer keeps moving.
Packer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dier is one step ahead there.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Eric Dier will probably get the nod.

That's time! Dier's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Dier throws the left hand but Packer avoids the punch easily.
Packer tries to bum rush Dier with a series of wild strikes but Dier uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Packer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dier.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dier bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Packer's head.

As Dier backs off Packer throws a huge counter combo but Dier manages to avoid it all.

Dier has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Packer is trying to keep an underhook but Dier manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Dier fires out a quick counter leg kick but Packer just manages to avoid it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eric Dier.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dier, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Eric Dier spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
