Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Masen Towle (ranked 3856 p4p, 3952 weight class) and Dennis Moody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dennis Moody will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Masen Towle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dennis Moody!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moody shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Towle pinned against the cage. Towle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Moody.
Moody advances to mount.
Towle gets back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Towle wants to control but Moody is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Towle moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Towle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Towle wants to get back to his feet but Moody is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Towle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Towle tries to get out of the position.
Towle keeping full guard, as Moody tries to pass.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Moody's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Towle looking for a guillotine here but Moody defends easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Towle lands with a heel strike from the guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Moody throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moody decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Towle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Towle tries to roll over but Moody keeps him under control.

Towle keeps the fight on the outside.
Towle fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Moody gets the takedown into side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dennis Moody will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

Towle shoots for a takedown but Moody saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
As Towle backs off Moody throws a huge counter combo but Towle manages to avoid it all.

Moody shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Towle manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Moody wants to pass the guard but Towle is keeping the position.
Towle wants to stand and escape but Moody is having none of it.
Moody must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Moody is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Towle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Moody doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Moody manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Towle isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Moody stacks Towle on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Moody!
Towle regains half guard there - taking advantage of Moody's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Towle is trying to stand up here but Moody is controlling him well.

Moody is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Towle defends it well.
Towle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Moody wants to pass to mount but Towle is defending the position.
Towle slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Towle working a defensive guard but Moody manages to pass into side control anyway.

Moody fails to land a wild elbow strike.
You can see the frustration on Towle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Towle is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Towle can't do much from the bottom here.
Towle prevents Moody from improving position.
Towle striking from the bottom but nothing landed.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

No luck for Moody with that takedown attempt.
Masen Towle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Moody shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Moody was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Towle can't do much from the bottom here.

Dennis Moody showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Towle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Towle forces Moody back against the cage and clinches.
Towle jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Moody walks away with a smile on his face. Towle gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nice takedown defense from Towle. No joy for Moody on that attempt.

Moody drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Towle manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Towle is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Towle seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Moody does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, if Towle is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Moody keeping hold of Towle's head, controlling as best he can.
Moody wants to get back to his feet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Towle perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Towle shoots for a takedown but Moody saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Towle fails with a takedown attempt.
Despite the aggression on Moody's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Masen Towle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Towle tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Moody defends well and Towle ends up having to push Moody into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Moody throws a big counter head kick but Towle avoids it with no problem.

Towle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Moody is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Towle shoots in but no luck this time.
Moody slaps away a takedown attempt from Towle, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Moody moves out of range of the leg kick from Towle.

Moody closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Moody wants a takedown.
Towle jumps guard but Moody turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Towle drops down looking for an ankle pick but Moody pulls his leg out and moves away.

Moody darts in and clinches Towle up against the cage.
Moody scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Moody decides to pull guard.
Moody throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Masen Towle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dennis Moody is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Moody is trying to control the position but Towle postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Dennis Moody.
Well Moody has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
