Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Morty Horowitz (ranked 3024 p4p, 4626 weight class) and George Jr (ranked 276 p4p, 341 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Morty Horowitz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Jr!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jr with a lazy takedown attempt

and Horowitz counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Jr wants to take the fight to the mat but Horowitz manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Jr manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Horowitz looking to pass the guard.
Jr keeping moving, preventing Horowitz from controlling successfully.
Jr wants to stand up but Horowitz is controlling him.
Horowitz stopping the sweep attempt from Jr.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Jr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Horowitz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jr.
Jr trying to mount his opponent but Horowitz defends it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Jr is looking for a kimura but Horowitz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jr to get the leverage.

Jr wants to work for an arm triangle but Horowitz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Horowitz is trying to get back to full guard.

Jr is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Horowitz defends it well.

Jr is working for a submission of some sort.

Horowitz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Horowitz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jr is working away from the top position though.
Horowitz is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Jr is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Ground and pound from Jr.
Horowitz is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jr scores with a couple of nice shots.
Horowitz throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Horowitz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jr pulls his head out easily.
Horowitz wants to improve his position but Jr is controlling well.

Jr is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jr looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Horowitz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Jr passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Horowitz!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jr is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Horowitz can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

George Jr dominated that round.
That's time! Horowitz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Horowitz smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Jr walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Horowitz manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jr on his heels. He'll look to pass Jr's guard now, I'm sure.

Horowitz won't allow Jr to sweep him here.
Horowitz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jr on the ground.
Jr bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Horowitz's guard.

Jr wants to control from the top but Horowitz keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jr advances to half guard.
Jr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Horowitz is looking to control Jr's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Horowitz avoid being mounted?

Jr winds up and cracks Horowitz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jr wants to get back to his feet.
Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Horowitz's head.
Jr has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Horowitz keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Jr is trying to work for a kimura but Horowitz is defending well.
Jr is looking to take a break and control but Horowitz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Horowitz flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Jr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Horowitz tries to roll over but Jr keeps him under control.

Jr is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Horowitz is not content to let Jr control the position.

Jr is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Horowitz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Horowitz wants to control but Jr is keeping busy.

Jr looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

George Jr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Jr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A decent looking cross lands there for Horowitz.
Horowitz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Horowitz lands a right hook to the body.
Horowitz scores with the left hand. Jr knows he should have avoided that one.

Horowitz darts in and clinches Jr up against the ropes.

Jr has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Horowitz clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A lull in the action here.
Horowitz wants to escape the position.

Horowitz is working hard here to advance position.
George Jr has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jr looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Horowitz taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). George Jr!
George Jr spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Morty Horowitz was interviewed post fight and said 'You no MMA FIGHTER!'.
