Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anatoly Zvezda (ranked 2441 p4p, 2952 weight class) and Ivan Kowalski (ranked 293 p4p, 340 weight class). Ivan Kowalski will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ivan Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zvezda misses with a takedown attempt - Kowalski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice sprawl there from Kowalski as Zvezda shoots in.
Kowalski wants to counter with a clinch but Zvezda pushes him away.
Zvezda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kowalski circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anatoly Zvezda. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kowalski bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Zvezda is not content to let Kowalski control the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
